Preparing a Review Booster CSV

One of the first things you will want to do after signing up to Reviews.co.uk is send out an email to all of your recent customers asking them to write a review. This can be done by uploading a CSV file of customer data.

What is a CSV?

A CSV is a comma separated values file, which allows data to be saved in a table structured format. A CSV can be prepared in any spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel and Open Office. You can usually save a CSV by going to File > Save As and selecting the CSV option.

Alternatively you may be able to export your customer data as a CSV directly from your e-commerce solution or you can have your web developer prepare one for you.

Preparing The CSV

To send a review booster you need to prepare a CSV file which contains your customers Name, Email Address and Order ID.

If you want your customers to review the actual product then you should also include the Product ID from your product feed. Collecting product reviews in this way also requires you to have your product feed setup correctly.

If  a customer purchases more than one product you should add a separate row for each product. The review booster will merge these so that only 1 email is sent including all 3 products.

It is ok if your CSV contains any additional columns as you will be asked to map the correct columns when you upload the review booster.

If you have thousands of customers to upload we recommend splitting these into CSV files of no more than 3000 per file. In this case you can also send the CSV to us at support@reviews.co.uk and we will happily upload these for you.
